The Young Parents To Be Team is a team of specialist midwives who provide antenatal, postnatal and some intrapartum (labour) care to young people aged 19 and under in the Dorset areas listed below.

The Young Parents To Be Team have four dedicated midwives. With two covering the Weymouth & Portland area, one covering the Dorchester and North Dorset area and one covering the Bridport area.

  • Sign-posting to housing/budgeting and finance

  • Sexual health and contraception services

  • Family/social support and healthy relationships

  • Targeted antenatal education focusing on all aspects of pregnancy

  • Labour and birth and caring for a new baby
