We have two dedicated teams in Dorset to support teenage parents-to-be. One team is based in the east and one is based in the west of Dorset.

The Young Parents To Be Team is a team of specialist midwives who provide antenatal, postnatal and some intrapartum (labour) care to young people aged 19 and under in the Dorset areas listed below.

You will have the same dedicated midwife throughout your pregnancy journey. The midwives above work closely with other agencies and can offer help and support with:

  • Sign-posting to housing/budgeting and finance

  • Sexual health and contraception services

  • Family/social support and healthy relationships

  • Targeted antenatal education focusing on all aspects of pregnancy

  • Labour and birth and caring for a new baby
